Early History
Through unknown circumstances, Whiting joined the United States Marine Corps, where he gained the call-sign Whip.
Some time before 2003, Whip was injured, and only Shane Schofield's work to splint his finger kept him from losing it altogether.
Scarecrow
Whip was among the Marines under Schofield's command when they were dispatched to assist two Delta teams which were fighting enemy forces at a former Soviet base. He perished in the enemy ambush on Bull Simcox's squad.
