Template:Infobox CharacterRobert Simmons, also known as Rebound, was a member of Shane Schofield's Recon team.

History

Before Ice Station

Through unknown circumstances, Robert Simmons joined the United States Marine Corps, where he gained the call-sign Rebound

He was eventually assigned to the Marine Recon Unit 16, led by Shane Schofield.

Ice Station

Rebound was among Book's team investigating a missing hovercraft while en-route to Wilkes Ice Station. Rebound lay on the edge of the crevice the hovercraft had fallen into and used thermal imaging to determine if there were any survivors. However the edge of the crevice fell, and Rebound was saved by his safety rope, and got a better look at the hovercraft and its dead occupants; they had all been executed at point-blank.

Shortly after arriving at Wilkes itself, the French soldiers who had been posing as scientists started attacking the Marines, and Rebound, Mother and Legs were forced onto B-deck and retreated down the tunnel to avoid enemy fire. After falling into a the Killer Whale infested diving pool, Rebound helped the injured Mother onto the deck, before setting her up to rest in a storage room on E-deck. While there, he stumbled accross a plan to eliminate all the Marines, but was able to alert his comrades and thus end the French assault.

Afterwards, Rebound was ordered to take care of the badly wounded Samurai, and retrieved the French doctor Luc Champion to help. However Saumarai had died, and Champion told him it was due to suffocation. After informing Schofield, he was ordered to help Book and Snake try contacting McMurdo Station, but after Snake was revealed as an ICG traitor, Rebound discovered that their rangefinders had picked up several enemy hovercrafts belonging to the British SAS. He began to panic that the SAS would not take prisoners, and then helped to preare their own hovercrafts for a retreat.

Rebound's hovercraft was loaded with the Wilkes Station scientists, and Schofield and Book used their own hovercrafts to take the brunt of the British assault. Soon however, Book and Kirsty were lost and Schofield ordered Rebound to continue to McMurdo with the remaining civilians, and after escaping the enemy forces Rebound successfully made it to McMurdo.

After Ice Station

Following the incident at Wilkes, Rebound decided to retire from the Marine Corps in order to spend more time with his family. (Area 7)
