Member No. 5 is the unnamed fifth member of Majestic-12.
The man who would become the fifth member of Majestic-12 was born to a wealthy family who owned an oil empire in Texas at some point in the mid-1950's. Upon his father's death, No. 5 inherrited the oil empire and was soon invited to join Majestic-12.
When Jonathon Killian joined M-12 in the late 90's, he found No. 5 to be a petulant individual, and was often annoyed by No. 5's constant opposition to him in council meetings.
When Majestic-12 decided to enhance their overall fortunes, they began planning to initiate a new Cold War, which their individuals businesses would benefit from and improve their wealth. Through Killian's Axon Corp contracts with the U.S. military, they discovered a pair of top secret American projects known as Kormoran and Chameleon, which involved disguised battle tankers and clone missiles respectively. By taking over both these projects, M-12 could make several western countries believe they had been hit by terrorist missiles.
In the course of their planning, M-12 discovered that a few individuals could upset their plans due to certain skills or knowledge that they possessed, and so they decided to start a bounty hunt to keep them from doing so. It was soon decided that Killian's Forteresse de Valois castle would be used as the verification point where the heads of the targets would be brought for assessing by Monsieur Delacroix, whom M-12 had worked with in the past.
Among the fifteen targets was Shane Schofield, a U.S. Marine with a reputation for succeeding against the odds. Unsettled by this, No 5. and M-12 decided that they would arrange a sham mission as an ambush to increase the chances of him being eliminated.
Around the time that the hunt began, Member No. 5 and a few of his assistants went to Killian's castle, apparently to stay for a short period. They soon found themselves trapped inside Killian's shark pit, where a pair of tiger sharks harrassed the group. As the water rose and two members of his staff were killed by the sharks, No. 5 decided to end his own life on the guillotine, to Killian's slight disappointment, having preffered to see No. 5 killed by the sharks.
During M-12's teleconference meeting minutes later, Randolph Loch questioned Killian where No. 5 was, and Killian claimed that he had pulled a muscle while swimming and was being looked after by his own physician.
Later, Schofield would manage to disarm the Chameleon missiles and arranged for the U.S. government to bring down the Kormoran tankers, foiling Majestic-12's plan.
