As the leader of the field team for the NSA's Sigma Division, operating under Marshall's command, Quaid was deployed to investigate the New York State Library when suspicious circumstances arose.
After he and another member of his team managed to infiltrate the library, they were attacked by Reese due to them threatening Swain, and Quaid was killed.

- Quaid holds the unofficial title of Commander, despite ther being no such rank in the NSA.
