Augustine Lau, also called Samurai, was a member of Shane Schofield's Recon Unit.

History[]

Early History[]

Through unknown circumstances, Augustine Lau joined the United States Marine Corps, where he gained the call-sign Samurai.

He was eventually assigned to the Marine Recon Unit 16, led by Shane Schofield.

Ice Station[]

Samurai was among those in Unit 16 who were sent to Wilkes Ice Station after a distress call was recieved from the station. When French soldiers posing as scientists attacked the Marines, was among the first to go down, and collapsed on the floor.

When the battle was over, Schofield's team found Samurai still barely alive, having subconsciously shut his mind down to deal with the pain he was suffering, and placed him under the care of Rebound. While fearing that Samurai would die without proper medical attention, Schofield told Rebound to get Luc Champion, one of the two French scientists still alive, to help since he was a doctor.

When they came back to the room, they found Samurai dead, which Champion determined was done via suffocation. Schofield wondered who would kill him and why, and acknowledged that some of his men were the only ones who were likely to have had the opportunity to have done it. At first the prime suspect was Rebound, until it was proven that another member of Schofield's team, Snake, was the true murderer after he attempted to kill Schofield and Gena "Mother" Newman.

His body was placed in a storage freezer so that it could be preserved until a proper burial could be made. Unfortunately Samurai's body was destroyed when a nuclear missile vaporised Wilkes.
